After enjoying several years of success as a pop-up clinic within Gulf Coast Home, Renaissance Dermatology recently opened its full-time satellite clinic in the Bay.

With over 30 years of experience, she co-owns Renaissance Dermatology, headquartered in Zachary, Louisiana. The Bay St. Louis clinic is the practice’s fifth location and will offer medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services. While the clinic is new, Renaissance Dermatology is no stranger to Hancock County. Dr. Harrington and her husband first visited Waveland in 2020 and quickly fell in love with the area. As she met more people, she kept hearing about the need for a local dermatologist. In response, she launched a pop-up clinic at Gulf Coast Home, owned by longtime friends Wendy De Ben and Theresa Lacy. The pop-up quickly gained popularity, offering consultations and cosmetic treatments such as Botox and fillers. Now, the full-time clinic will expand those services, adding microdermabrasion, microneedling, and potentially laser treatments based on demand. Dr. Harrington will see patients in Bay St. Louis weekly on Mondays and Fridays. At the ribbon cutting, Dr. Harrington emphasized the importance of dermatology services in the area. “It’s especially important for this community because we spend so much time enjoying the outdoors,” she said. “Over time, sun exposure increases the risk of skin cancer, so we will be offering a full range of medical services, including full-body skin exams, mole and skin cancer removal, and treatment for conditions like psoriasis and eczema.” Attendees were enthusiastic about having a new local option for skin care, conveniently located in Old Town Bay St. Louis. Many booked appointments on the spot while others took home service lists to explore their options. In an interview with Hancock Chamber executive director Tish Williams, Dr. Harrington expressed her appreciation for Hancock County. “You have a wonderful community here,” she said. “People have been so welcoming and kind. That is something to be proud of.” When asked for one piece of advice for the community, Dr. Harrington didn’t hesitate. “Put sunscreen on every day,” she said. “Face, neck, ears, décolleté, and the backs of your hands—these are the areas most visible and most prone to non-melanoma skin cancer. Use at least SPF 30 daily—it’s the best anti-aging practice there is.” Renaissance Dermatology is now accepting new patients. Book an appointment online at http://ren-skin.com or call 225-654-1124.
