For more than 30 years, the monthly art walk has become one of the most popular events in the region. Old Town stays lively all day, with many merchants and restaurants offering specials.

The pace picks up from 4–7 pm, when gallery openings and live music keep the streets humming with activity.

Antique Maison offers “something for everyone.” That is what founder, Sylvia Young, insisted her shop offer customers. You will find this to be true once you step into Antique Maison and discover the labyrinth of booths containing various knickknacks. The main room features stalls curated by different vendors. Walking toward the back of the building, you will discover even more treasures “you can’t live without.”

Sylvia and her husband, Ed, moved to Bay St. Louis from New Orleans in 1991. Ed was raised buying and selling furniture for his family’s business, Young’s Furniture, located on Magazine Street. Prior to opening Antique Maison, Sylvia worked in real estate in Metairie. The couple opened Antique Maison on January 1, 2007, after renovating the building that was damaged during Hurricane Katrina. Antique Maison, LLC became an antique mall catering to dealers who had lost their own storefronts to Katrina. It didn’t take long for the business to become a success.

“We have everything from unique home decor, steampunk creations, and vinyls, to vintage furniture, collections, and art, said Missy Geisel, manager at Antique Maison. “You can also find one-of-a-kind items, like handmade signs, driftwood pieces, and custom-made art installations.” Each time you visit, there is sure to be something unique, as new and interesting merchandise arrives at Antique Maison daily.

Antique Maison would like their customers and the community to know that, even though both Mrs. Sylvia and Mr. Ed have both passed, their family will continue to keep the Young’s legacy alive in Bay St Louis. Missy worked with the Young family for 11 years before becoming the manager of Antique Maison. Barbara Able serves as the assistant manager.

This Second Saturday, Antique Maison will stay open until 7 pm, and the crew will welcome singer Andree Dupepe, who will perform 4-6 pm. There will also be a special tropical drink for customers, and cruisers are encouraged to stop by and check out one of the coolest shops in the Bay.
