Flag Retirement Ceremony Please mark your calendars for American Legion Post 77’s annual Flag Retirement Ceremony. The ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial on Coleman Avenue on July 6 at 7:30 pm. The public is encouraged to participate by dropping off any American flag in need of retirement (tattered, faded and/or torn). There will be a box outside the front door of Post 77 where you can deposit your flag to be readied for the ceremony. If you have never participated in this solemn event, you don’t want to miss it.

Dr. Bill Bradford Bench Dedication On June 19, friends and family of Dr. William "Bill" Bradford dedicated a bench in front of the Waveland Library. His fitness friends of the Waveland Library provided the bench, and the Bay-Waveland Garden Club donated landscaping. Dr. Bill was an icon in Waveland. Even if you didn’t know him, you probably saw him from time to time riding his bike. Dr. Bill spent his life caring for others as a doctor, a devout member of St. Clare Catholic Church, and serving at the Methodist Church’s soup kitchen. He entertained so many with his stories, inspired with his compassion, and educated with his knowledge. He was a beloved by all who knew him and is terribly missed. Stop by the Waveland Library and have a seat on the green bench, rest a moment, and say a little prayer for Dr. Bill. We can only hope to touch as many in our lifetimes as he has, and to leave such a loving impression on the Earth. Featured Employee of the Month: Janita Cole Janita Cole’s career with the City of Waveland has spanned twenty years.
