Over the past 24 years, the monthly artwalk has become one of the most popular events in the region. Old Town stays lively all day, with many merchants and restaurants offering specials.

The pace picks up from 4–7 pm, when gallery openings and live music keep the streets humming with activity.

Be sure to check out August "Hot Spots"  Antique Maison (111 N. Second St.) and Bodega Rentals and Adventures (111 Court Street). Read more about these featured businesses below!

From outside, Antique Maison looks like a nice-sized antique shop. With large windows, farmhouse decorated table space and large metal signs, this store seems like a quaint place to stop in and find new treasures from the past.

Enter the front doors and you’ll quickly realize that Antique Maison is roughly the size of your average ballroom – half a block deep. You’ll want to take your time browsing through booths filled with a multitude of collectibles and curiosities.

Ed and Sylvia Young opened Antique Maison in 2007, repairing and renovating the space after Hurricane Katrina. They opened their doors and invited vendors to come in and share their products with the blossoming rebirth of Bay St. Louis. Thirteen years later, they’re one of the largest antique shops in Hancock County and a valued Old Town anchor.

Antique Maison will be one of the featured Hot Spot businesses for Second Saturday on August 8, 2020. Select vendor booths will be offering discounts on their products for savvy shoppers looking for wonderful finds at special prices.

Antique Maison will be offering live music outside from 4 – 6 pm by the talented Hadley Hill. If you like sweet treats, Jose Pablo Paz will be on site with his delicious baked goods – most notably, his famous “shoe soles.”

The incredible team at Antique Maison is extremely knowledgeable and personable, ready to help you sort through the vast selection of items offered. Be ready to shop this upcoming Second Saturday while snacking on a freshly baked goody with lively acoustic music to keep you company.

The best way to describe Bodega is to say they have everything under one roof to help you make the most of your time in Bay St. Louis – whether you’re a local or just visiting.

Painted a rich mango color, the Bodega building looks like it could be situated in the tropics. It’s flanked on one side by golf carts and on the other with bicycles – both for rent. Enter and you find a delicious menu and speciality drinks at the Parrot Head Bar and Grill, helmed by Chef Rickey Peters.

Wander up the stairs to a boutique-style yoga studio, where classes are now held on the open-air balcony, looking over the courtyard and palm trees. A wine and liquor store on the ground floor offers friendly faces ready to help you find old favorites and fresh flavors.

Bodega Rentals and Adventures is a large part of this popular enterprise, offering rentals of all kinds to locals and tourists alike. This is BSL home base if you have an adventurous spirit and love to spend time outdoors. Golf carts, bicycles and kayaks are just some of the options one can find available for rent. Explorers can rent the vehicle of their choice, grab a few sandwiches from Chef Rickey and head out on an afternoon expedition. Bodega also will deliver any rental from their fleet to the door of your home or vacation rental.

To celebrate their Hot Spot status this Second Saturday, Bodega Rentals and Adventures will be hosting live music in the oasis out back. Folks can sit back and relax on the covered patio in this little piece of paradise. At the Parrot Head, check out refreshing cocktails, the regular menu and specials whipped up by Chef Ricky. You can even schedule a rental for the next day while you’re there!
