Local potters and Old Town merchants team up annually for this extremely popular event, "Souper Mudfest."   Starting at 4pm, participants purchase a hand-crafted bowl created by local potters. Bowls are $20 each and are sold from a booth on the City Green at Main and Second Streets.

Bowl buyers are provided with a list of  local merchants where they’ll be able to sample gourmet soups throughout the evening - for free!  The bowls sell out very quickly, so it's advisable to go EARLY (sales officially begin at 4pm).

Women's Suffrage in Mississippi
Bay St. Louis Library

by Dr. Pamela Tyler, USM
6pm

After decades of effort, U.S. women at last won the right to vote in 1920, with the ratification of the 19th amendment.
However, they did so without much help from the lawmakers in the state of Mississippi.

Hear an authority on Southern women and politics discuss the suffrage movement in our state. Who objected to votes for women, and why? Who were the supporters?
