Moonlight in the Bay

Tickets: $75

Each year the Hancock Medical Foundation holds its annual Moonlight in the Bay gala to raise funds for hospital equipment. This year’s gala honors president of the Hancock Medical Board of Trustees, retired Hall of Fame basketball coach and award-winning educator J. Larry Ladner.

The event features a patron party from 6-7pm, dinner at 7:30, a silent auction, and live music from 8-11.

Enjoy an event that has defined Bay St. Louis’s community spirit for the last twenty years: Second Saturday Art Walk. Main Street is lively all day with live music and shop specials, and from 4-8 the evening’s special events begin.  Live music on the streets, art openings at galleries, restaurant specials and shops are open late - many serving refreshments.

Check out one of the best fairs of its kind on the coast! More than 150 art, crafts, and unique gifts vendors and food stands under the trees at the Diamondhead Country Club. Prize raffle. Come inside for lunch specials in the club. Free shuttle from the Diamondhead Shopping Center both days.

The Hancock County Fair returned in 2013 after a 13-year break, and it’s going strong again at the Hancock County fairgrounds in Kiln.

The cast of "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner"

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner

On September 25, the first stage production of “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” ever to be produced in Mississippi opens at Bay St. Louis Little Theater. Larry Clark directs this adaptation by Todd Kreidler of the 1967 Academy award–winning screenplay by William Rose.

The play portrays a young interracial couple attempting to navigate the misgivings of their parents.

Only a handful of companies around the US have ever staged this play. Support and enjoy groundbreaking live theatre!

These last-Fridays at the Mockingbird with next-door gallery Smith and Lens are really a fun way to ring in the weekend with a night on the Old Town, and it’s kid friendly! Enjoy a special tapas menu and a wide assortment of beverages from the ‘bird, check out a band on their stage outside, and stroll next door for an art opening at Smith and Lens. September’s opening is Gulf Coast painter JJ Foley, whose striking oils feature figures in quiet contemplation.
