Weather and timing are everything. If you can time your fishing trips before cold weather fronts, you may be in for some incredible fishing.

When it lines up correctly, a day or two before the big front can offer some incredible fishing. We are still heavily targeting sheepshead along the nearshore reefs and structures. They should be plentiful and hungry for the next couple of weeks. On those picture-perfect days, we get inside the marsh to target redfish and speckled trout. We work the deeper holes near the shallow bays for speckled trout. Hands-down, the most fun is getting into the shallow ponds and bays to look for tailing redfish. If you have never taken a trip to sight cast for redfish, I promise you it is some of the most fun you will ever have on the water. Our coastline and marshes are chock full of wildlife this time of year. There are countless birds to be seen and plenty of other animals. The otters have been very visible throughout the marshes, and it’s always a treat to see them. Please be mindful of the weather and don’t take any chances. Have fun and be safe.
