Inconsistent temperatures have made local fishing very unpredictable, but the warmer temps also make it more enjoyable! - by Sonny Schindler, Shore Thing Fishing Charters As the water warms back up, the fish have been scattered. We are doing a lot of moving around to put the day together, but we have seen a lot of action. We have been avoiding the Louisiana marsh because of windy conditions, but our crews are having fun from Heron Bay to Bay St. Louis fishing any protected shoreline or near shore reef. There has been no rhyme or reason to the bite, but it has been exciting. One stop you catch speckle trout, the next stop is sheepshead, then redfish, and the next may be gigantic black drum. This is very typical of March fishing, so enjoy the variety and just keep moving until you find a good bite. We have a bigger swing in the tide and more stable warm temperatures this coming week. I can only imagine that fishing will go from good to great. The warm, sunny spring days certainly make it that much more enjoyable. Enjoy this feature?Comments are closed.
