This week, our big story is the weather - and good weather, in this case, makes for good fishing.

This bull red tried to get a free meal off of this speckled trout on Capt. Josh Ellis‘s boat out of Pass Harbor.

​The weather pattern we’ve had the past week has made for a lot of fun on the water. We are seeing more good weather days than bad. The rains have not been big or frequent, so all of this combined has made for some very good fishing.

Tom and Mike had a great day of redfish fishing in Lake Bourne, even during a light drizzling rain.

 
We are still focusing on redfish, sheepshead, and puppy drum. Our guides have been picking up a handful of speckled trout, but I would imagine the big numbers will be here as the water warms up.

Big black drum should be lurking around over the next couple of weeks.

 
The live bait has been a challenge to get. If you are fortunate enough to find some live shrimp, minnows, or fiddler crabs, be sure and take very good care of them. They certainly help.

Big sheepshead are still around. This one was caught in a Louisiana marsh south of Waveland.

 
The big swings in the tide have made a noticeable difference in the fishing. Moving water certainly triggered the bite on our last few trips.
