Local fishing is right on the precipice of breaking wide open. With this week's warm weather, cleaner water, and rising water temperatures, hold onto your hats, anglers!

The big schools of sheepshead have pushed way out, but the speckled trout have begun moving in closer. We are seeing plenty of undersized fish from Bay St Louis all throughout the Louisiana Marsh. The bigger fish/schools should be moving through very soon.

Over the weekend, we saw more schools of baitfish and shrimp than we have in a very long time. Things are right on the edge of busting wide open. The water temps are almost holding at that magic 70/72-degree mark. Salinity is on the rise, and hopefully the rain and rivers will ease up for a few days.

The big and small redfish and black drum have been fun. We are seeing sizes ranging from 16 to 36 inches literally everywhere. They are around all the nearshore reefs and throughout the Louisiana Marsh. This week should produce a big uptick in fishing. We have south winds and warm weather heading our way. Good luck everyone!
