Community Calendar FAQs
Q. How can I list an event on the Shoofly Community Calendar?
A. Use the Submit Event button at the top of the Shoofly Calendar and fill out the form!
You may submit a (square format) photo, but please no text-heavy fliers or posters. (We will replace photos that don't fit format or guidelines with something good that works.) Do type event details in the description box, because details in text on a poster won't get seen.
Q. What kinds of events go on the Calendar?
A. Any event to which the general public is invited, with the exception of political events organized by a political party. Shop sales, drink specials, restaurant specials, or items within the purview of any business’s day-to-day offerings are not submittable “events.”
Also we list only activities physically occurring in Bay-Waveland, Diamondhead and Pass Christian (and elsewhere in Hancock County as time permits) or events hosted by our Annual Partners. We also reserve the right to reject events we deem inappropriate for a general audience.
Q. Is everything accurate?
A. We sure try! But keep in mind that sometimes organizers change details and don't let us know. If you see a mistake, please contact events@shooflymagazine.com.
Q. How often is the calendar updated?
A. We check submissions a couple times a week, and we work to get other items we hear about up as quickly as our schedule permits.
