Community Calendar FAQs
Q. How can I list an event on the Shoofly Community Calendar?
A. Use the Submit Event button at the top of the Shoofly Calendar and fill out the form!
You MUST submit a square format photo to publish an event on our calendar. Text-heavy fliers or posters are difficult to read. In some instances events will be rejected and need to be resubmitted due to formatting issues or lack of a photo. Make sure to give event details in the description box.
Q. What kinds of events go on the Calendar?
A. Any event to which the general public is invited. We list only events that occur in Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Diamondhead and Pass Christian.
This excludes political events organized by a political party, fitness classes, membership meetings, business hours, retail sales, drink specials, restaurant/meal specials, or items within the purview of any business’s day-to-day offerings.
We also reserve the right to reject events we deem inappropriate for a general audience.
Q. Is everything accurate?
A. We sure try! But keep in mind that sometimes organizers change details and don't let us know. If you see a mistake, please contact events@shooflymagazine.com.
Q. How often is the calendar updated?
A. We accept events requests weekly and strive to accept and publish submissions quickly. You should submit your event 5 working days prior to the start of the event to ensure a timely review and acceptance.
