Sassy Bird Interiors stands on Court Street as a beacon of creativity and style. Launched in 2019 by co-owners Shannon Stage and Holly Harrison, this boutique interior design shop sprang from a shared vision rooted in their familial nicknames, Sassy and Birdie. With Stage’s expertise in the giftware industry and Harrison’s extensive background in interior design, they moved their thriving business to its current location in December 2021, further cementing their commitment to bring extraordinary and unexpected home décor to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Specializing in a plethora of unique items ranging from exquisite furniture and curated art pieces to old-fashioned children’s toys and entertaining essentials, Sassy Bird Interiors distinguishes itself not only as a store but as an experience. As the only interior design firm in Bay St. Louis with a brick-and-mortar presence, Sassy Bird Interiors also offers comprehensive services including in-home consulting, custom furniture, and more.

For the upcoming Second Saturday on November 11, coinciding with the Stennis Day in the Bay event, Sassy Bird Interiors invites families to a delightful “light saber party” in their front yard. From 12 pm to 3 pm, children and parents can enjoy this thematic extravaganza complete with a photo station, ensuring memories that will last a lifetime. To amplify the festive spirit, DJ Doug Funnie will be spinning “out of this world” tunes, adding to the day’s joyful ambiance.

The store’s décor itself is a testament to their philosophy, encapsulating a blend of elegance, whimsy, and welcoming warmth. On this Second Saturday, shoppers will also receive a free gift with each purchase, adding an extra layer of excitement to their shopping experience.

As committed community players, Shannon and Holly are looking forward to their Bluebird Countdown post-Thanksgiving sale, offering savvy shoppers ever-deepening discounts, though with a playful warning: as prices drop, so does the likelihood of snagging that coveted item! Additionally, the first weekend of December will see them hosting a Grandparent Shopping Weekend, complete with discounts for those showcasing pictures of their grandchildren.

Founded by Jamie Temple in the spring of 2006, post-Hurricane Katrina, The Buttercup was more than just a café; it was a symbol of resilience and rejuvenation. Jamie’s vision of a “place that was affordable, fresh, and happy” quickly resonated with the locals, making The Buttercup an instant beloved spot. Although Jamie passed away a few years ago, his niece, Tiffany Wiensch, has taken the reins, preserving the café’s cherished feel. “This place is special to a lot of people, and I want to keep that going, that’s for sure,” said Tiffany.
