As the seasons change, so does the fishing - some fish move offshore, others return to our waters, but there is always something to brag about off the Mississippi coast!

We have been seeing a few schools of the big fish. The big bull reds and jacks have been doing numbers on the big push of jumbo white shrimp that came through. Some days, there was nothing else to catch if you were in the areas they were feeding. They completely take over when they want to feed heavily. Very, very fun fighting those big brutes on light tackle. With these cooler temperatures, we see next to nothing on the tripletails now, but it was a good year. More than likely, they are heading offshore for the winter and will return next spring. There are a few flounder around that are likely doing the same thing. Hopefully, we can work the shorelines and marshy areas to pick up a few of those tasty flatfish before winter sends them offshore. The trick is to watch the weather and try to get out between the fronts. The fishing should be stellar; you have to play it safe with those autumn storms. Enjoy this feature?
