With fresh water messing with water salinity in our area, you either adapt - or wait for improving conditions.

The black drum and redfish have been scattered. Live or dead shrimp helps. With this dirty water, you definitely want something with some smell on it.

The Pearl River should be slowly dropping, and hopefully the south winds will push that good salty water our way.

Until then, it’s going to be watching the weather. You either head way south or way east to find cleaner water – or you can pick through the catfish and drums here and there. Conditions will be getting much better here in the coming weeks. The weather has been nice so that helps. Enjoy this feature?
