Finding clean water is the key this week to finding the fish. Don't be afraid to move around until you find them.
- by Sonny Schindler, Shore Thing Fishing Charters It was a lot of sticking and moving, but once we found them, it was a good flurry of action. The good news, too, is that the majority of the fish we caught were almost all over 13 inches. We didn’t hammer on any huge trout, with the biggest maybe 16 inches long, but it was fun fishing. We were able to find some redfish a little farther east than we typically fish this time of year. In the bays and the lagoons, the water was very clean. The fish were a little more skittish than we see in the ponds, but they were definitely there. The nearshore fishing has been hit or miss, but again, that has to do with finding cleaner water. The fish are there, but they seem to be moving in and out of the reefs and the bridges with the tide in the clean water. As long as we get minimal rain in the region, the fishing should just get better and better. Enjoy this feature?
