With a week of nice weather, the boats headed out to sea. Fishing success is often tied to water salinity and tides now.
- by Sonny Schindler, Shore Thing Fishing Charters
The near-shore fishing on the right side of the tides has been very good. The sheepshead seem to be getting bigger and better every few days. We still keep boats over in the Louisiana marsh on the good weather days. We are still seeing redfish, a few sheepshead, and plenty of those tasty freshwater catfish. This is easily the most freshwater catfish we have ever seen in the many years we have been fishing down there. All we need now is some decent weather and hope that the rivers don’t flood. We are set up for a great spring. We just need salty water and calm seas. Enjoy this feature?
