Spring fishing continues to heat up, meaning lots of happy anglers for local charter captains!

Some days, our boats find gin-clear water and can spot and cast to redfish. The big bull reds have been rather plentiful on the eastern side of the marsh.
We had one trip to the western side of the marsh. The ponds are full of that freshwater grass. The reds are in them, but the grass is so thick it’s difficult to fish. The near-shore fishing has been stellar. The black drum have been great, with the smaller, tasty ones on reefs and bridges. There are still huge black drum mixed in as well. Live or dead shrimp have been working well on them. It seems like moving water has offered better fishing. We still see sheepshead, redfish, white trout, and a few speckled trout. Hopefully, the weather will play nice, because things are about to get great! Enjoy this feature?
