While most trips have been near-shore, the action is steady, and black drum are the stars of the show right now.

The majority of our fishing trips are still nearshore. Luckily the bite has remained good these last several weeks. The bridges, briefs, and shorelines from Bay Saint Louis to Lake Borgne is where we have been spending most of our time. The black drum have been everywhere. The tasty smaller ones and the massive ones are both all over. There are a few trout, sheepshead, flounder, and reds still mixed in as well. A couple of the bait shops in the Bay and the Pass have been getting live shrimp, but just like our boats, they are at Mother Nature’s mercy. However, live shrimp work wonders on these structures – everything down there eats ‘em. The few trips our boats have made to the Louisiana marsh have been good. The water is very clean on the eastern side. We still have our fingers crossed for a bang-up spring trout bite. Enjoy this feature?
