Black drum inshore, bull reds offshore, and speckled trout everywhere - oh my! Lucky anglers are enjoying some of the best fishing of the year, and it just keeps getting better.

The black drum bite has been unbelievable. The big ones should be heading offshore soon, but hopefully the smaller, tasty ones will stick around a little longer.
The tripletails are here for the summer. We have been long overdue for a good summer of tripletail. We see fish almost daily, and it seems every week they are getting more plentiful – and bigger. Folks are enjoying the incredible speckled trout fishing. Anglers are doing just as well near the beaches as they are to the south in the Louisiana marsh. As long as the water keeps holding this amount of bait (shrimp, pogies, mullet), we should see this good fishing for many more weeks. One thing that is likely to alter our unbelievable trout fishing will be the bull reds, jack crevalles, and sharks. It’s just going to be something you deal with. Either enjoy the big pull, or move and look for another trout bite. It won’t be much longer, and I’d imagine the big schools of bulls and jacks should be right off the beach. Our offshore boat has been doing phenomenal on the red snappers. They are even seeing a few cobia, too! It looks like it is going to be another busy summer on the water. Please be respectful of other anglers and boaters. Have fun and be safe. Enjoy this feature?
