Our current commissioners are Bryan Frater, Chairman; Barbara Coatney, Ward 1; Greg Poindexter, Ward 2; Chad Whitney, Ward 3; and Matt Touart, Ward 4. Thank you, P&Z commissioners, for taking this on.
Citizens of Waveland, you’re encouraged to read over the Comprehensive Plan. Believe it or not, it’s 131 pages long! CITY OF WAVELAND (ms.gov) For those who are keeping track, there was a study done last year by urban planning group Orion that gave the city a plan to improve the Highway 90 corridor. Remember that? Shoofly gave details on that last fall; you can read the full article HERE. No doubt the commissioners will be looking at that report. But they’ll also be looking at your comments. The announcement published in the Legal Notices says that written suggestions should be submitted by Thursday, June 8 at noon to zoning official Jeanne Willie at [email protected], or mail it to 301 Coleman Ave., Waveland MS 39576. Send in your ideas, Waveland! On Monday, June 12 at 6 pm, the Planning & Zoning Commission will hold a special meeting to consider amendments to the current Comprehensive Plan. The notice reads that “the Commission will discuss and address the future growth and development in the City of Waveland that the citizens would like to see.” Please attend this special hearing if you would like your opinions/suggestions heard. And take good notes! Enjoy this feature?Comments are closed.
