An Old Town eatery changes hands, and now has a new name and a delicious new menu.
- by Lisa Monti
Court St. Café sets itself apart with such offerings as a cheesy Italian slider dressed with arugula and pesto, and sweet potato fries topped with bulgogi sauce and sesame seeds.
Since the café is brand new, the menu will be fine-tuned as the operation settles into its own rhythm. For now diners can enjoy beer and light wine on the patio along with dips and fries as appetizers, individual street tacos, quesadillas, salads, sides and an assortment of flatbreads, sliders and sandwiches.
One popular feature from Purple Banana is ice cream, which is featured on a dessert menu. And there’s a kids’ menu as well, to cover all the bases. Spoon describes the new cafe as “different, but still familiar.” Spoon is putting her food and beverage experience, along with her business management degrees, to work for this endeavor. She was on the team that opened Beau Rivage’s banquets and catering operations, and she gained additional restaurant experience working at Los Tres Amigos and the NASA Exchange.
For now, Court St. Café is open 11am-9pm Tuesdays through Thursdays, and 11am-midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Look for a grand opening in May, along with grab-and-go items, Sunday brunches, and full liquor services once the license is issued.
