S&L Office Supply, the only dedicated office supply company in Hancock County, is expanding exponentially in the coming months.
Later this year, the business will be moving from its present location 129 Hwy 90 in Waveland to 1201 Hwy 90, across from the Bay St. Louis post office. The large building at 1201 was formerly home to the “Shieldsboro Bazaar,” an indoor flea market. Currently, it’s being renovated and remodeled. Bay St. Louis architect Ed Wikoff worked with S&L owner Chris Cochran to redesign the building’s interior, and work is underway for a complete makeover.
Cochran says he’s moving because his business has outgrown its current location in the Waveland strip center. For the past year, he’d been seeking building that would have easy customer access, offer high visibility and have enough space for his current needs and for planned future growth. He purchased the former flea market location earlier this year and began plans to remodel.
“We’re going from no storage to 5500 square feet,” says Chochran. “We’ll need this space because over the next few years, since we’re expanding our physical market from ten miles to 30 miles.” Cochran says that as his service range expands, he’ll start buying in more bulk in order to offer customers even better pricing. S&L will eventually make daily deliveries from the new location to businesses within a 30-mile circumference, including Slidell, Picayune, Gulfport and Biloxi. The printing part of the business will also be expanding. “The printing business started as a complementary service we could offer our customers,” Cochran says. “Now it’s become a thriving business of its own. The new location will give us plenty of room for that as well.” Comments are closed.
