Rotary Chili Cook Off
Held at the Bay St. Louis Community Hall on Thursday, January 26, 2017. This fun - and tasty - annual event raises money for Rotary Club's "Service Above Self" initiatives. This year 24 teams participated (see team names below). Photos by Brenda and Ned Comer

This free outdoor and indoor event featured local arts, crafts, jewelry, candles and much more. Local restaurants served lunch and dinner. This annual event is a great way to find that unique local gift to give to your family and friends this Christmas.
Mermaids Arts and Crafts Show
September 17 & 18 on the grounds of the Historic Depot. This first year show produced by the famed all-women Krewe of Nereids, brought together nearly sixty artisans, showing everything from glasswork to clothing, dolls, soaps, candles, paintings, ceramics, wreaths, calligraphy, framing, floral arts, and more. Bay Rats Marching Battery
This home-grown drum corps writes their own performance pieces. In this video, they perform during the Second Saturday Artwalk that takes place in Old Town Bay St. Louis each month. For those who live elsewhere: a Bay Rat is the time-honored coast name for a resident of Bay St. Louis. Rats and Mice - they both rock!
Mockingbird Café's 10th B-day Party
When the 'Bird opened the first year after Katrina, it instantly became the town's living room. Happily, it still is! With free family-friendly live music, art shows and a host of other fun events throughout the year - not to mention superlative food and coffee, this living room proves our town deserves its reputation as one of the coolest places in the South.
The prom-themed 10th birthday party featured Star & Micey, a band known throughout the South. The 'Bird is one of their favorite venues, so they came in from Nashville for the celebration.
Second Saturday August 2016
Over the past two decades, the Second Saturday Artwalk has become one of the most popular monthly community events in the entire region. Gallery openings, shop and restaurant specials and live music make the streets of town swirl with a fun family energy. While things are lively all day, the music and specials take place from 4 - 8pm.
Embrace Space was the theme on August 13th, celebrating the fact that Hancock County is home to the INFINITY Science Center, and one of the largest space-centered complexes in the nation - Stennis Space Center. A caftan contest capped off the night.
The monthly Second Saturday artwalk on July 9th celebrated the birthday of iconic artist Frida Kahlo with an extraordinary costume contest and a fiesta of other events!

St. Clare Seafood Festival
Held Memorial Day Weekend: 5/27 - 5/29, 2016: Bands, Classic Car Show, a 5k Run/Walk & 1-mile Fun Run, seafood, vendors, fair rides, more SEAFOOD, and a big ol’ fireworks display at the end! Relay For Life
April 30, 2016: Following opening ceremonies until event’s end, members of participating teams tool shifts walking or jogging around the track. The event also included everything from food sales to spacewalks. All to raise funds to fight cancer.

St Rose de Lima Mystery Dinner Theatre
This interactive murder-mystery on April 16th revolved around a class reunion gone wrong (and which one isn't?). The ticket price included a dinner with salad, main course, dessert, and drink, and benefited St. Rose Catholic Church. A sold-out and enthusiastic crowd packed the St. Rose Holy Spirit Center.
Steve Barney Performance
On Saturday, April 16, Mississippi Public Broadcasting filmed engineer-turned-performance artist Steve Barney and his amazing Steampunk pottery contraption, ”Agile Argile" for their award-winning TV show Mississippi Roads. The crew filmed Steve hanging upside down, making pots with his head, and other crazy antics to make pottery, in a show designed to entertain and educate.
Cajun Party in a Box - April 2016
This family-friendly event featured the awesome fiddling of Waylon Thibodeaux at the historic 100 Men Hall in Bay St. Louis.
Tea With Friends 2016
It was the fourth year for this fun annual event, a popular fund-raiser for the Friends of the Animal Shelter. Each year, a full English tea is served with savory and sweet goodies and there's also a silent auction. It was a record-breaking year - in terms of people participating and money raised: more than $5000 for the organizations programs!
Stella, Blues & BBQ
The BSL Little Theatre’s “Stella Yelling Contest” meets BBQ and blues music for this annual festival. Phil “Smooth” Williams and the Electric Sheep were followed by Heather and the Monkey King in an extraordinary feel-good evening.
