Labor Day weekend 2022 became a celebration of genius as the 100 Men Hall honored the memory of pianist extraordinaire, James Booker, who had Bay St. Louis ties. The festival started with a screening of the 2013 film, "Bayou Maharajah," about Booker's life.
Live performances honored his memory and legacy, including a gospel choir, a piano trio, spoken word performances, and stand-up comedy. The weekend-long celebration culminated with a drag brunch, a truly befitting end to a weekend celebrating this flamboyant, complex, talented, and troubled musician.
