On a hot, late September morning, over 120 paddlers took part in the third annual Paddle Paradise, a free event hosted by the City of Diamondhead. The four-mile paddle highlights the beautiful Rotten Bayou Blueway, a canoe/kayaking trail that is part of the Mississippi Blueways trail system. The paddle started at the Diamondhead Marina and continued along the serene, scenic Paradise Bayou, ending at the Lazy Gator Restaurant, south of I-10. At the finish line, paddlers were greeted with live music, t-shirts, and food available at the Lazy Gator. The weather was perfect, and everyone had a great time. - photos by Gregg Martel
