The Cottage at 215 Main Street
If Bay St. Louis is really sort of a ‘Mayberry by the Sea,” the Cottage at 215 Main should have been Opie’s address. Built in 1910, with a wrapping porch and a bay window that looks out onto Main Street, it’s the sort of house where the adults would have sat on out in the summer evenings, drinking sweet tea and watching the kids playing in the picket-fenced yard.
But these days, there’s a lot more happening in Old Town’s Arts district. With restaurants, galleries, dozens of boutique shops, the new harbor, the beach and the fishing pier are all within a few blocks, the cottage is located in the thick of one of the most vibrant and merry art towns in America. Which is a perfect situation for the guests that stay at 215 Main, which now serves as a furnished vacation rental. It’s available for rent by the night (two-night minimum), the week or the month. |

Since the cottage is kid and pet friendly, 215 Main can be rented as headquarters for a family stay in Old Town or as a romantic getaway. It even comes with two bicycles for exploring the miles of nearby biking/walking trails (along the beach or across the bay bridge) or taking the Historic Biking/Walking tour of Old Town.
