A Morning Cocktail That Will Keep You Fit For Life

That’s right, I start each morning with a cocktail.  I’ve been drinking one upon rising for 15 years.  I even have a special flask for when I travel.

But this is no ordinary cocktail.  It’s primary ingredient has been used by ancient civilizations including the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans to promote healthy digestion, a balanced pH, and regular waste elimination.

And now, a drum roll please………

It’s apple cider vinegar.  Not the kind you buy at WalMart, but Bragg’s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar.  It looks a little cloudy, like unfiltered apple juice, because it contains “the mother”, thin strands of protein, enzymes and good bacteria.    Only raw organic apple cider vinegar contains this living substance.

I add organic local honey, which many researchers tout as an ingredient that can build your immune system and prevent sickness and allergies.  My grandpa drank it.  My husband drinks it.  My kids know to make a mini-drink if they start to feel sick.  Hippocrates prescribed it.  And I preach its power to anyone who will listen.

I add a dash of cayenne pepper, an herb known for increasing metabolism. You can customize your cocktail by adding a dash of another herb if you have a particular health issue you’d like to improve.
photo by Jesse Loya Obviously, I am not a doctor, but I do believe everyone can benefit from my cocktail.  I challenge all of you to try it for two weeks.  And before you start calling me to complain that you just can’t drink it because you hate the taste, or the smell, I say plug your nose! 

What should you expect?  Well, according to  The Global Healing Center, apple cider vinegar can clear up skin conditions and blemishes; help with joint pain and stiffness; and break down fats so the body can use them instead of storing them (hence apple cider vinegar’s reputation as a weight-loss aid).  Perhaps one of the most promising studies comes from Arizona State University where research showed apple cider vinegar reduces glucose levels, making it extremely helpful in treating Type II diabetes.
As for me, I believe I have found a cocktail that keeps me trim, regular, and so I hear, looking great for my age!  Join me in saying "Cheers!" to great health every morning.
