Snowballs at the Beach April is the return of the amazing Bayou Snowball stand at the beach in the lighthouse parking lot. These snowballs are exceptional. They have ice cream, pretzels, and other great treats on their menu. You should jump on your golf cart, bike, or whatever transportation you have, and try them. They even have some traditional flavors without dyes – these snowballs have all of the flavor without the lingering color.

Curbside Recycling The deadline to sign up for the curbside recycling service is May 1, 2024. Only 80 of the 1,500 required households have signed up. I am not optimistic that this program will move forward. So, where does that leave us with recycling? I, for one, am working on reducing my footprint. Although I despise plastic containers and bags, many items we use every day only come in plastic. One thing that I can control is how I bag my purchases. Reusable shopping bags are a great way to eliminate single-use plastics in your everyday life. If everyone contributes to this one simple effort, we could dramatically reduce the amount of plastic going into our landfills. Keeping reusable bags in your trunk ensures they are ready for whenever or wherever you may need them. Once you do this, you will never want plastic bags again.
