What's Up, Waveland? - December 2015
This month Waveland Alderman Jeremy Burke reports on Waveland's Festival of Lights, a new restaurant for Coleman Ave., bonfires on the beach, and a new school board member.
New Restaurant on Coleman
On November 18th Waveland Board of Mayor and Alderman approved a rental agreement with Louis and Lisa Dunklin to open Dunk’s Southern Style Buffet in the café pod of the Waveland Business Center. The Dunklins are working hard to get the restaurant open by the end of the year and once open, will serve lunch and dinner. Dunk’s is a welcome addition to Coleman Avenue!
Bonfire on the Beach
Starting on December 7th, bonfires will be allowed on Waveland beach. The Waveland Board of Mayor and Alderman unanimously passed the ordinance at the November 3rd meeting. Unlike the bonfire ordinance Waveland had previously, bonfires will now be allowed on any part of the beach, not just in front of the Buccaneer State Park as before. Read the new ordinance here!
