Waveland Food Truck Friday is free to attend and open to the public. Food can be purchased through the food trucks. The Waveland Civic Association will have a table set up selling soft drinks and water.
Last month I reported the installation of the Blessing Box located near the parking lot at the Waveland Library. During the few weeks since the Blessing Box was set up with food or other items, it has been replenished several times. It is apparent that many in our community are in need of a blessing from time to time. I encourage you to contribute what you can.
These are the items commonly donated and used to stock the Blessing Box.
- Canned food with ring pulls
- New socks
- Crackers
- Toilet paper
- Non-perishable foods
- Bottle water
Waveland Election
Waveland municipal elections will be held in the fall of 2022. Voters in Waveland will be electing the mayor and aldermen. The qualifying to be able to run for the position of mayor or Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3 and Ward 4 alderman will begin this month. Once the election is called, which will likely happen during the June 7 Waveland Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, residents who wish to serve their community will qualify. Candidate qualifying packets will be distributed at Waveland City Hall after the election is called.
