What's Up, Waveland? May 2021
Waveland Alderman Jeremy Burke updates us on the next Waveland Food Truck Friday, and the return of St. Clare's Seafood Festival!
Initially, Waveland was only going to hold the event during the summer months. Due to the event’s popularity that plan quickly changed, and the city decided to host the event on Coleman Avenue on the second Friday of every month.
Event volunteer Kristen Tusa said, “Having Waveland Food Truck Friday named as one of best events in Mississippi is a powerful statement about Waveland. It is a good feeling knowing that others think so highly of the event. When Waveland Food Truck Friday was started, the goals were to put a spotlight on Coleman and make it a place marker for Waveland, I think it is succeeding at achieving those goals.”
The event is not just a favorite for locals; Waveland Food Truck Friday is becoming a draw for weekenders, too. Many own second homes here and make sure they head over to Coleman Avenue as soon as they get in town for the weekend.
The next Food Truck Friday is Friday, May 14, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Coleman Avenue. We have a list of popular favorites and some new trucks for May: Chillin the Coast, Dolce, Denny Wayne’s Festive Foods, Rolling Bayou, Semplice Pizza, and Twisted Magnolia.
